12 Tips to Prepare for the Summit

12 Summit

It’s almost here: the Summit! Your bags are packed, you saved up some gambling money, you’re almost ready for Vegas! Here are some tips and tricks to make the most of your time at the Summit. Trust us, you’ll be happy you followed all of these!

1. Use #AmazingSummit in your social posts.

You’ll likely be taking lots of photos and sharing them on social media. Make the most of it by using the hashtag #AmazingSummit. During the event, we’ll be doing some pretty exciting contests and giving out prizes for people who tweet or Instagram with the hashtag!

2. Get there early, register early.

You will definitely want to arrive at least the day before the Summit (Thursday 11/5) so that you have time to register, rest, and enjoy Vegas before we get started. You will also want to be sure you get to the conference room by 8:30AM to secure a great seat–we start at 9AM, but good luck getting a good seat at that time!

Also, don’t wait until the morning of Day One to register. Trust us. You may not make it in the room by 9AM…and you do NOT want to miss out on what happens first thing in the morning on Day One! We have early registration 5PM-7PM on November 5 so be sure to get registered during that time.

3. Get plenty of rest and stay hydrated.

This is Vegas. We know there’s a lot of fun to be had, but you will definitely want to get plenty of rest the night before each Summit day. Save your real partying for Sunday night and sleep in on Monday! You should also stay hydrated. Las Vegas is in a desert, so it’s very very dry. We will provide all the water you can drink, but you may want to look into bringing electrolyte drinks or coconut water.

4. Plan out time and prepare to network.

One of the most amazing things about the Summit is all the networking opportunities you will have! Make the most of it by planning certain times during your breaks to network. We also have a networking happy hour on Friday that you do not want to miss! Other networking opportunities include our lunches if you purchased your tickets to them. Be sure to bring your business cards, you’ll be giving out a lot of them!

5. Bring resources to take the most valuable notes.

We will be providing some goodies to help you take lots of notes. That being said, if you take better notes on a laptop, bring that! If you have a favorite notebook and pen, don’t forget them!

6. Bring all your chargers.

The distance from the conference room to your hotel room (even if you’re staying at the Venetian) is at least a good 15 minute trip. Bring all your chargers with you first thing in the morning: laptop, iPad, phone, etc. because you likely won’t have to chance to go back and get them!

7. Don’t skip any sessions.

This goes without saying, but every session in the schedule has been handpicked to benefit you and your needs. We will be livestreaming and recording the event, but we may not release the recorded sessions for a while. Be there live, you won’t regret it! But you likely will regret missing any of them.

8. Wear comfortable shoes.

This is Las Vegas, and everywhere you go will be a long walk. Each hotel is like its own city, including the Venetian. Wear comfortable shoes and your feet will thank you on day three.

9. Dress comfortably.

Most Summit attendees dress business casual, so don’t put on your finest suit. You’ll be sitting a lot of the day and there’s really no need to dress fancy. Be comfortably presentable, and you’ll look and feel great.

10. Bring snacks.

We will break for lunch, but if you typically need to eat every couple of hours to keep your blood sugar up, we recommend bringing a snack bar or banana with you in your bag for the day.

11. Download the app.

Have all information about the event at your fingertips with the Summit app! You’ll be able to see the schedule, find out info about speakers, and even share your experiences in a social way! Download it here!

12. Make time for fun!

You can’t go to Vegas and not have fun! Schedule some time in the evenings or before and after the event to really live it up in Vegas. There are amazing shows every night, some of the country’s top restaurants, and many unique hotels to explore. Make the most of it!

Are you going to the Summit? What are you looking forward to most?

A bit nervous. But excitement is more than that. Just coming by myself. Feel to have a good partner while enjoying Summit and Las Vegas. Kibrea (Bristol, UK)

    Thanks Melissa 🙂
    Some great tips there.
Long haul from the UK but I’m just like kid at Christmas time.

    See you all there.

What are the dates? I know its last minute. I put a deposit down in august and forgot allabout this thing. looks like rooms at the venetian are no longer discounted either? anyway I can get a last minute discount code?

  • Kurt Gross says:

Will there be free wifi at the Venetian? Also, in the conference room?

    • Bao Nguyen says:

No, unfortunately wifi will not be available in the meeting room. There also won’t be any charging stations for electronic devices. However, you will have wifi in your hotel room. It will be covered in your room charge.

  • Brad Mills says:

Is anyone planning any fun events? I’d love to attend!

  • Anita says:

REALLY EXCITED! Flight arrives at 6:00 p.m., please consider keeping registration open past 7 p.m. if there is a line, have the hotel map memorized to make a quick run directly to registration!

  • Nicole Gladu says:

All this sounds great. I have a question: I’ll have my laptop, will the info for the mobile phone be also available on our laptop?

    Thank you,

    • Melissa Pont says:

I don’t believe the Yapp app works on laptop, but it should work on iPad/mobile tablets. Did you receive the pre-event guide via email? That has all the schedule information you should need.

  • Jason Johnson says:

Thanks for the tips Melissa! I was wondering how we go about watching the streaming of the summit, as I will not be there until Friday evening. Thanks
