I'm not sure how long it will take for him to re-grow his feathers... he hasn't seemed to notice that they are gone.

He has been chewing up a box that is on the floor -- part of nesting behaviour. I usually don't encourage that kind of thing, but his beak gets overgrown and he really needs to chew more. I may try moving the box to his playstand.
